Chenrui Lei has been working in the software development industry since 2015. Starting as a Support Analyst Intern at the University of Alberta, they then became a Teaching Assistant at the same institution in 2017. In 2018, they took on a Contract - Course Instructor role at the Alberta Artificial Intelligence Association, teaching both the AI for Kids Advance and Artificial Intelligence 101 - AI for Kids courses. That same year, they also became an AI Developer at SafeContact Solutions Inc, developing custom Python API of the Pico-flexx camera module, label annotation software using PyQt, and a utility library for Intel Neural Computing Stick (NSC). In 2019, they worked as a Junior Software Developer at Pason Power, contributing to the development of the Pason Power product line, web applications and monitoring & control systems, and furthering the integration with cloud services and IoT transport mechanisms. They also wrote unit and integration tests, participated in Code Reviews and Agile meetings, and traveled to the Houston office 1-2 weeks per year. In 2020, they worked as a Software Developer at Energy Toolbase, and since 2021, they have been a Senior Software Developer at Jasper.
Chenrui Lei obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computing Science from the University of Alberta in 2017, following a five-year program that started in 2012. In 2017, Chenrui Lei continued their studies at the University of Alberta, obtaining a Master of Science (MS) in Computing Science in 2019. In 2018, Chenrui Lei also obtained a certification from the IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation 2018.
