Iris Bouts has extensive experience in the mental health and youth care fields, currently working as a GZ-psycholoog at Youz since September 2018, and previously holding various psychological roles within the organization. Bouts also served as a behavioral scientist at Alterius from August 2019 to January 2022, and as a youth care worker in several organizations, including Intensoplus Geleen and anaCare. Educational qualifications include ongoing GZ-opleiding training at RINO Zuid, alongside a Master’s degree in Mental Health from Maastricht University, and a Bachelor's degree in Pedagogy from Fontys Hogeschool Pedagogiek. Bouts has also engaged in voluntary work with UNICEF, providing education on children's issues in schools.
