George Chryssides

Postdoctoral Research Fellow at York St John University

George Chryssides is an accomplished academic with significant experience in the study of religious movements. As Chair of the Management Committee at Inform since September 2008, George has also served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at York St John University since June 2015 and has been a Governor at Inform since 2014. George previously held the position of Honorary Research Fellow in Contemporary Religion at the University of Birmingham from September 2008 to August 2014, focusing on research supervision and studies related to New Religious Movements, particularly Jehovah's Witnesses. Prior to these roles, George was a Senior Lecturer and Head of Religious Studies at the University of Wolverhampton from September 1992 to August 2008, teaching various subjects including research methods and different religious traditions. George's academic background includes a D.Phil in Philosophy of Religion from the University of Oxford and degrees in Theology and Philosophy from the University of Glasgow.
