Melissa Garcia has a diverse background in the field of child and youth development. Melissa is currently employed at the YMCA of Orange County as the Child and Youth Development Director. Prior to this, they worked at OneOC as the Program Manager, Learning & Development, and previously as the Volunteer Services Manager. Before joining OneOC, Melissa worked at The Raise Foundation as a Case Manager/Family Advocate and later as the Volunteer & Community Engagement Coordinator. Melissa also has experience working at Rainbow Rising as a Center Director and previously as an Assistant Director & Program Teacher. Melissa's earlier work experience includes a role as a Teacher/Program Leader at THINK Together.
Melissa Garcia holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Child and Adolescent Development from California State University, Fullerton. In addition to their formal education, Melissa has obtained several certifications. Melissa completed the Volunteer Engagement Training Program at OneOC in May 2022 and obtained a Nonprofit Management Certificate from the same institution in December 2021. In March 2021, they obtained a 40 Hour Domestic Violence State Certificate from WTLC. Earlier, in October 2019, Melissa acquired the Triple P Parenting Educator certification from Triple P International Pty Ltd (Positive Parenting Program). In May 2019, they completed the Volunteer Management certification program at OneOC.
