Senior Robotics Software Engineer at Yaskawa Motoman

Karthikeyan Yuvaraj has a strong background in robotics and engineering research. Karthikeyan has worked as a Senior robotics software engineer at Yaskawa Motoman since 2023. Prior to this, they were a Senior Member at IEEE since 2023. From 2022 to 2023, they worked as a Roboticist specializing in visual perception at Intrinsic. Before that, they worked at Vicarious from 2018 to 2022 in a similar role.

In 2014, Karthikeyan had two concurrent roles: as a Robotics software engineer Level 2 (R&D) and as a Robotics Software Engineer R&D at Honeywell. Additionally, in 2014, they worked as a Research Engineer Intern at Penn Medicine, University of Pennsylvania Health System, where they programmed the Baxter robot and designed a method for collecting skeletal configurations using Microsoft Kinects. Karthikeyan also had an Engineering Research Internship at Children's National Health System in 2014.

Prior to these roles, Karthikeyan worked as a Humanoid robotics researcher at the Drones and Autonomous Systems Lab from 2012 to 2013, where they developed a telemanipulation interface for a humanoid robot. Karthikeyan also worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at Drexel Autonomous Systems Lab from 2011 to 2013, working on research tasks related to achieving autonomy in unmanned ground and aerial vehicles using vision sensors.

Karthikeyan Yuvaraj completed a postgraduate program in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning from The University of Texas at Austin in 2021-2022. Before that, they earned a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. Additionally, they pursued an M.S degree in Electrical Engineering at Drexel University, specializing in a thesis research area.
