Tapuwa Shambira is a Graduate Mechanical Engineer at Yancoal Australia Ltd since February 2023, following a diverse background in engineering and community engagement. Shambira's experience includes roles as a Community Assistant, Student Representative, and Move Intern at Diageo during studies at the University of Wollongong, where a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Mechanical was earned. As part of the UOW Women in STEM, Shambira served as Engineering Representative, aiding female students in networking and addressing engineering-related queries. With experience as Event Coordinator, Treasurer, and Secretary for the UOW Mechanical Engineering Society, responsibilities included planning social and networking events for Mechanical Engineering students. Earlier professional experiences also encompass a role as a Trainee Engineer at Soto Consulting Engineers and positions at Shellharbour City Council and Aeris Resources Limited. Additionally, Shambira contributed as Vice President of the Illawarra Students chapter of AusIMM and interned with Project Everest Ventures, focusing on energy solutions in India.
