Tamara Somers, PhD, is an experienced professional specializing in sustainability and impact, currently serving as General Manager of Sustainability & Impact at Xero since September 2021. Previously, at Telstra from December 2017 to September 2021, Somers held the role of Senior Specialist & Scrum Master in the Sustainability Centre of Excellence, overseeing significant sustainability initiatives and reporting. With extensive expertise in business strategy and reporting from positions at Koniambo Nickel SAS and consultancy roles, Somers has a strong background in international relations from diplomatic roles, including Deputy Consul-General at the Australian Consulate-General in Noumea. Tamara Somers holds a PhD in Comparative Media & Cultural Studies and a BA (Hons) in French and Spanish from Monash University, along with a Certificate Program in ESG, risk, and strategy.
