Sandra Kohler has worked in a variety of roles in the medical and research fields since 2007. From 2007 to 2009, they worked as a Researcher at iSOCO, where they were the project leader for UpGrid and worked on ISSE-CISEP, a project involving e-health, medical terminologies, and ontologies. From 2009 to 2012, they worked as a Field Clinical Monitor at Sorin Group, where they were responsible for study submission, site selection and initiation, and the preparation of presentation and info material. From 2012 to 2013, they worked as a Clinical Project Manager at The Medicines Company. From 2013 to 2016, they worked as a Director European Hemostatic Clinical Operations at Biom'Up SPAS. Since 2019, they have been working at Xeltis, where they have held the roles of Director Clinical Operations, Associate Director Clinical Operations, Senior Clinical Operations Manager, and Clinical Study Manager.

Sandra Kohler obtained a Master's degree in Mathematics in Science and Engineering from the Technical University of Munich between 2001 and 2007. During this time, they also attended Chalmers tekniska högskola / Chalmers University of Technology between 2004 and 2005.
