Alisha Gimbel

Co-Founder at Xcelerate

Alisha Gimbel has extensive work experience in emergency management and preparedness. Alisha is currently the Director of Emergency Management at the City of Richardson Texas, a position they have held since October 2022. Prior to that, they worked as the Emergency Management Coordinator for the same organization from February 2020 to October 2022.

In 2014, Alisha co-founded a company called Xcelerate, where they served as a co-founder. Alisha started working there in November 2014 and their role duration is unspecified.

Before founding Xcelerate, Alisha worked as a Contractor at Ancora Secure starting in July 2011.

From February 2013 to February 2020, Alisha worked at the City of Richardson as the Preparedness & Mitigation Coordinator.

Alisha's early career includes roles at the North Central Texas Council of Governments. Alisha started as an Emergency Preparedness Intern in January 2007 and was later promoted to work on COOP planning and UASI as a Specialist in October 2007. Alisha eventually became a Sr. Emergency Preparedness Specialist and held that position from December 2008 to February 2010. Alisha also served as an Emergency Preparedness Supervisor from January 2007 to June 2011.

Alisha Gimbel attended the University of North Texas from 2007 to 2008, where they pursued a degree in Emergency Administration and Planning with a focus on Crisis/Emergency/Disaster Management. In August 2019, they obtained the Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) certification from DRI International (Disaster Recovery Institute). Alisha also holds additional certifications as a Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) from the International Association of Emergency Managers and as a Texas Certified Emergency Manager from the Emergency Management Association of Texas (EMAT), although the specific dates of obtaining these certifications are not provided.
