Photonics Design Engineer at Xanadu

Leanne Dias has a diverse and extensive work experience. Leanne started their career as a Research Assistant at the National Research Council Canada, where they worked on developing and characterizing a Compton Gamma Imager. Leanne then worked as a Course Developer at the Department of Engineering Physics, McMaster University, where they designed and prototyped an ISFET pH sensor lab. Leanne also served as a Teaching Assistant for various courses at McMaster University, including computer lab assistance for a first-year engineering programming course and an Engineering Economics course.

Leanne has also worked as a Research Assistant at the Université du Québec - Institut national de la recherche scientifique, where they designed and built a diffraction grating pulse stretcher detection set-up. Furthermore, they have worked as a Private Tutor, helping high-school and university students in various subjects, including chemistry, physics, math, and engineering topics.

Most recently, Leanne has been employed as an R&D Engineer II at Lumerical, an Ansys Company, where they worked from 2020 to 2023. There, they also had a previous role as an Applications Engineer Intern from 2019 to 2020.

Leanne's current position is as a Photonics Design Engineer at Xanadu, which they have held since 2023.

Leanne Dias completed their Bachelor of Engineering & Management degree in Engineering Physics and Management at McMaster University from 2013 to 2018. Leanne then pursued further education at UBC, where they obtained a Master of Applied Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from 2018 to 2021.
