Pavan Asalapuram has a diverse work experience in the field of diagnostics and research. Pavan is currently serving as the Chairman of the Board at EMPE Diagnostics Private Limited since 2019. Prior to this, they held various roles at EMPE Diagnostics, including Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and Vice-CEO/Vice VD. Pavan is also the founder and CEO of EMPE Diagnostics, where they developed a technology for rapid and accurate detection of multi-drug resistant tuberculosis strains.

Pavan Asalapuram has a diverse education history. Pavan began their academic journey at Madras Medical College, College of Pharmacy, Chennai, where they obtained a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm.) degree specializing in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Pharmacology. Pavan then pursued an M.S. (by Research) degree in Biotechnology at Anna University. Pavan went on to complete their Ph.D. in Molecular Pathogenesis - Biotechnology from Anna University as well. Pavan later joined Loyola Institute Of Business Administration to study Hospital and Health Care Management. Pavan also engaged in research at Karolinska Institutet, affiliated in the field of Biotechnology and Public Health. Additionally, they served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Stockholm University, focusing on Molecular Diagnostics.
