Rachel Pearson is a Writer at WW Norton since 2014, focusing on race and poverty in medicine, with their work featured on platforms such as MSNBC and Texas Public Radio. Pearson is also a Teaching Assistant for the Intro to the Medical Humanities course at The University of Texas at Austin, where collaboration with Angie Hamouie and Dr. Ruth Buskirk has involved designing a curriculum for pre-medical honors students. As an MD/PhD Candidate at the Institute for the Medical Humanities, Pearson's interdisciplinary research explores narratives related to medical care, including themes of objectivity, race, and justice, informed by extensive experience as a medical student and director of a student-run free clinic. Education includes a Doctor of Medicine from The University of Texas Medical Branch and a Bachelor's Degree from The University of Texas at Austin.
