Karun Dewan

Program Officer - Freshwater at WWF Nepal

Karun Dewan is a dedicated conservation professional with extensive experience in freshwater ecosystems and environmental management. Currently serving as a Program Officer for the freshwater team at WWF Nepal since November 2017, Karun contributes to the protection, restoration, and management of critical freshwater systems, focusing on key species such as river dolphins and gharials. Previously, Karun held roles as Program Associate for both Water and the Terai Arc Landscape, where responsibilities included habitat management, compliance support, and inter-stakeholder collaboration. Prior professional experience includes program coordination at MTSDI P. Ltd and the Community Development Society. An academic background includes a Master of Arts in Anthropology and a Masterā€™s degree in Environmental Science from Tribhuvan University and the Central Department of Environmental Science, respectively.
