Zhigang Chen has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Zhigang started their career as a Research Assistant at the University of Michigan, where they worked on projects involving mobile applications and sensor networks. Zhigang then joined Yahoo! as a Technical Yahoo before moving on to Moovweb, where they served as a Lead Product Architect, leading the revamping of the company's core products.
After Moovweb, Zhigang joined Twitter as a Sr Software Engineer and later became a Tech Lead, responsible for leading the design and development of Twitter Cards and the Twitter Observability Platform. Zhigang also worked at Alibaba Health Information Technology Inc. as the Chief Architect and Senior Director, leading big-data analysis of Electronic Medical/Health Records for precision medicine.
Prior to their current position, Zhigang worked at Tencent as the Founder and Director of the Healthcare Big Data Lab. Currently, they are at WuXi AppTec, serving as the SVP & Chief Digital Officer, leading the digital transformation of the company. Overall, Zhigang has successfully led various projects, implemented methodologies for improving operational efficiency, and utilized open-source platform technologies and agile development processes.
Zhigang Chen holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Michigan. Prior to that, they obtained a Master's Degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Peking University and a B.S. in Computer Science from Wuhan University.
