Tim Riley has over 20 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry. Tim currently works at WuXi Advanced Therapies as a Senior Scientist, where they are responsible for new product introduction and process development for late stage and commercial cell therapy programs. Tim serves as a Subject Matter Expert for client programs and provides floor support during technology transfer and process performance qualification.
Prior to their current role, Tim worked at Sanofi Specialty Care Operations as a Process Engineer, supporting commercial GMP operations. Tim conducted cell culture experiments, provided support for deviations and investigations, and contributed to process troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
Tim's previous experience includes working as an Upstream Process Development Manager at Goodwin Biotechnology, where they led a team in planning and performing daily activities in cell culture operations. Tim also worked as a Senior Scientist at Goodwin Biotechnology, as well as a Development Scientist II/Supervisor at WuXi AppTec, where they focused on mammalian cell culture for recombinant protein expression and supervised a team in process development.
Earlier in their career, Tim worked as an Associate at Cell & Molecular Technologies, Inc. and as a Research Assistant at Thomas Jefferson University.
Throughout their career, Tim has demonstrated expertise in process development, technical transfer, validation, and manufacturing operations in the biopharmaceutical industry.
Tim Riley has a diverse education history. Tim first attended Rutgers University - Camden, where they studied Biology, although the specific years of study are unknown. In 2000, they enrolled at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, majoring in Cell Biology and Biotechnology, and completed their degree in 2004. Later on, in 2012, Tim attended Villanova University to earn a Green Belt in Six Sigma. The following year, they pursued Professional Education in Fermentation Technology at the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In 2014, Tim returned to Villanova University, this time to obtain a Six Sigma Lean Belt certification. Additionally, they hold a certification in Lean Six Sigma from Villanova University, although the specific attainment date is unknown.
