Bill Bruce worked as a News Photographer at WLOS-TV from January 1983 to August 1987. Bill then joined WSOC-TV in August 1987 as the Chief Photographer.

Bill Bruce attended Appalachian State University from 1978 to 1982, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Communications.
