Valorie Carter Lawson is an accomplished news anchor and reporter with extensive experience in the broadcasting industry. Currently serving as a weekday anchor for WSFA 12 News since April 2006, Lawson has been recognized for outstanding journalism by the Alabama Broadcasters Association, Associated Press, and National Association of Black Journalists. Prior to this role, Lawson worked as a weekend news anchor and weekday reporter at ABC33/40 from October 1998 to April 2016, where coverage included significant stories from Birmingham City Hall. Lawson holds a Bachelor of Arts in Telecommunications from Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University.
