Jennifer McEwan is an accomplished intellectual property professional with extensive experience in trademark and patent law. Currently serving as President of the Institute of Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys of Australia (IPTA) since April 2023, Jennifer has also held the position of National Practice Group Leader - Trade Marks at Wrays | Intellectual Property since April 2017. Prior to these roles, Jennifer was the Managing Partner at EKM patent & trade marks and served as a Partner at Gadens Lawyers, where Jennifer headed the Intellectual Property department. With a foundational career starting as a Technical Assistant/Patent Attorney at Wray & Associates, Jennifer has developed expertise in trademark registration, IP enforcement, and commercialization of intellectual property rights. Educationally, Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Science with Honours and a Bachelor of Laws from The University of Western Australia, specializing in biochemistry and law.
