Von Jones has extensive work experience in various technology companies. Von currently holds the position of Principal Architect at WP Engine, which they have been in since 2018. Prior to this, they worked for Cisco from 2009 to 2017, where they held several roles including Principal Engineer in various departments such as AppDynamics and Cloud Analytics. Additionally, they were a founding leader of the Cloud InterCloud Services project and was involved as a Sr. Architect in Cloud Automation and Management. Before their time at Cisco, they worked at Tidal Software as a Corporate Architect, where they led the architecture and design of the Process Orchestrator software product. Von also worked at iSoftware as Founder and VP Engineering, as well as at NetIQ as VP Development and Corporate Architect, where they played a significant role in post-merger integration and introducing a new product line. Von Jones started their career at Mission Critical Software as VP Development and joined Compaq Computer Corporation as Manager of Systems Management.

From 1982 to 1986, Von Jones attended Rice University where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Computer Science.
