Starting in 2010 as an intern at Berdon, Backy progressed through various positions to gain expertise in financial management. This includes roles such as Staff Accountant at AnaptysBio, Senior Accountant at ViaCyte, and Corporate Controller at Greater San Diego Area. Backy then joined Events.com as the Senior Director of Finance and Corporate Controller in 2017. Afterward, Backy worked as a Financial Advisor at SyncSketch until 2022. Currently, Backy serves as a Fractional CFO at WowYow AI.

Backy Chen attended Xiamen University from 2000 to 2004, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Banking, Corporate, Finance, and Securities Law. Backy then enrolled at Baruch College from 2005 to 2007 and obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Accounting.
