Tom Stewart began their work experience in 2012 as a Mechatronic Engineer at Quisitive Pty Ltd, where they wrote flight control firmware for a prototype VTOL aircraft called the Hoverpod. Tom worked on sensor/actuator interface over CAN and feedback controllers for attitude stabilization and rotor speed control. Tom then became a Research Associate at RIKEN Brain Science Institute in 2016 and worked there until 2017. Following this, Tom worked as a Robotics Engineer at Rapyuta Robotics from 2017 to 2018. Afterwards, they joined Ascent Robotics, Inc. as a Principle Research Engineer from 2018 to 2022. Currently, Tom is working as a Research Engineer at Woven Planet starting in October 2022.
Tom Stewart has a Master's Degree in Engineering (Human Computer Interaction) from the University of Tsukuba, which they obtained between 2014 and 2017. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor's Degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering at Curtin University from 2006 to 2011. In addition, Tom has a certification in C++ from Brainbench, although the specific month and year of this certification are not specified.
