Thomas Speer has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Thomas currently holds the position of Learning and Organizational Development Director at Wounded Warrior Project, where they have been since February 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Learning and Organizational Development Manager at the same organization from April 2018 to February 2022.
In addition to their role at Wounded Warrior Project, Thomas worked as an Independent Consultant in Organizational Development and Training from March 2018 to May 2018.
Thomas also served as the Director of Organizational Development at One Call Care Management from July 2014 to March 2018.
Before that, they were actively involved with ATD (Association for Talent Development) Northeast Florida, where they held various leadership roles from January 2012 to December 2016, including Chapter President and Vice President of Programs at NE Florida Chapter ATD (ASTD).
Thomas's experience also includes their tenure at Kemper Corporation, where they held multiple positions. Thomas was the Director of Training & Employee Development from July 2013 to July 2014, the Kemper Services Group Training Manager from January 2009 to July 2013, and the Training Manager from August 2006 to January 2009.
Prior to their time at Kemper Corporation, Thomas worked as a Training Manager at CSX Transportation from December 2001 to August 2006.
Early in their career, Thomas gained valuable experience as a Senior Project Manager at Network Consulting and Integration from November 2000 to December 2001, where they led a team in the maintenance and installation of computer networks for various organizations.
Throughout their career, Thomas has demonstrated expertise in learning and organizational development, training, and project management, contributing to the growth and success of the organizations they have been a part of.
Thomas Speer's education history includes a Master of Arts in Business Management and a Master of Arts in Computer Resources and Information Management, both obtained from Webster University from 1997 to 2000. Thomas also holds a Bachelor of Science in Vocational Education and Curriculum Development from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, earned from 1990 to 1992.
In addition to their degrees, Thomas has obtained several certifications. In 2004, they became a CRG Assessment Systems Trainer from CRG Consulting Resource Group International, Inc. In 2014, they received the certifications of Certified 360 Assessment Coach from DecisionWise and DDI Certified Facilitator from Development Dimensions International. In 2015, they obtained the Workplace Big Five Assessment - Coaching Consultant certification from the Center for Applied Cognitive Studies (CentACS). In 2017, they became a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt through the One Call Care Management, Process Excellence Department. Most recently, in 2022, Thomas acquired the Certified Professional Executive Coach certification from the Academy of Creative Coaching.
