Aik Hoe Lim is the Director of the Trade and Environment Division at the World Trade Organization, overseeing initiatives related to environment, climate change, and sustainability while advising the Director-General on trade strategies concerning climate issues. Lim has extensive experience in trade policy and capacity building within the services sector, having previously served as a Counsellor and Secretary for various Working Parties on the General Agreement on Trade in Services. Prior to joining the WTO, Lim held positions as Senior Economic Affairs Officer at the G-15 Summit Level Group, an Economist at the International Labour Organization, and a Lecturer/Researcher in Urban Economics at Birmingham City University. Lim’s academic credentials include an MA in International Economics and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Financial Economics, among other qualifications.
