Edward Davey is International Engagement Director of The Food and Land Use Coalition, a global initiative to transform the world's food and land use systems, co-led by WRI. In this role, he is responsible for ensuring that the coalition delivers real impact on the international stage, including through the series of global meetings planned in the so-called 2o21 ‘super year’. In this capacity, he serves as an Adviser to the UK COP26 Presidency’s Nature campaign and to the secretariat of the UN Food Systems Summit. He is a contributor to FOLU’s flagship Growing Better report, published in September 2019, as well as co-author of the food and land use chapter of the New Climate Economy’s 2018 report. In the first phase of FOLU’s work, from 2017 to 2020, he worked with colleagues to establish the coalition’s country platforms in Colombia, Ethiopia, Indonesia, India and China, as well as its network of affiliated partners in the UK, Australia, and the Nordic countries.

In addition to his role for FOLU, Edward serves as Co-Director of WRI’s UK office, jointly responsible with Leo Horn-Phathanothai for WRI’s engagement with the UK government, private sector, civil society partners, and UK-based board members. In this capacity, he also works to support and facilitate WRI’s interactions and engagements with its Royal Patron, HRH The Prince of Wales.

Prior to joining WRI, Edward was Senior Programme Manager at The Prince of Wales' International Sustainability Unit, where he co-led a number of international initiatives on REDD+, zero deforestation commodity supply chains, forest landscape restoration and climate change. Prior to the ISU, he served as Lead Adviser on Environment in the Colombian Presidency's International Cooperation Office in Bogotá, supporting President Santos with the environmental aspects of the Colombian peace process. He began his career as a Researcher at Oxfam and for the UN Human Development Report, and also spent a number of years working for a humanitarian organization working in the Middle East.

Edward has a Master's with Distinction in Environment and Development from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and an Undergraduate Degree in Modern Languages (French and Spanish) from the University of Oxford.
