Barbara Pick is an experienced international consultant with a focus on geographical indications and the sustainable use of plant genetic resources. Currently serving as an International Consultant at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) since March 2024, Barbara provides technical expertise for projects related to Grenadian nutmeg and cocoa. Ongoing work includes consulting for CIRAD on the development of the geographical indication system in Zimbabwe and serving as a Legal and Policy Consultant for FAO, enhancing plant genetic resource conservation. Previous roles include evaluation consultancy for the EUIPO and WIPO, as well as legal consulting and project coordination for FAO on various international agriculture and intellectual property issues. Barbara holds a PhD from The London School of Economics and Political Science, along with advanced degrees from Sciences Po and Paris-Pantheon-Assas University.
