Melissa Melendez, MBA has a strong background in accounting and audit. Melissa is currently serving as the Senior Director of Corporate Accounting at World Fuel Services since August 2021. Prior to that, they held various roles within the company including Director of Core Accounting, Director of Audit Assurance and Advisory, Senior Audit Manager, Manager of Internal Audit, Lead Auditor, and Senior Internal Auditor.

Before joining World Fuel Services, Melissa worked at Jackson Health System as the Corporate Audit Manager in 2012 and as a Senior Internal Auditor from 2011 to 2012. Melissa also gained valuable experience at Burger King Corporation where they served as a Senior Internal Auditor from 2005 to 2010.

Early in their career, Melissa worked at the US Securities and Exchange Commission as a Regulation and Accounting Research Specialist from 2003 to 2005.
