Maciej Kolaczkowski has a diverse work experience in the energy sector. Maciej started their career as a Research Intern at the Polish Investment and Trade Agency in 2006, followed by a brief stint as a Communications Intern at PKN ORLEN S.A. Later, they joined PGNiG SA as a Strategy Analyst, where they played a key role in developing the group's sales and sourcing strategy for natural gas. Maciej also led the Polish Gas Market Study by 2035 and facilitated the merger of 5 oilfield services subsidiaries into Exalo Drilling, a leading onshore drilling company in Europe.
After their tenure at PGNiG SA, Maciej worked at the Prime Minister's Office in Poland as a Chief Specialist in Energy Security. Maciej provided support to the Prime Minister-led task force responsible for overseeing the country's energy strategy and facilitated coordination among key stakeholders during the negotiation of long-term gas purchases.
In 2010, they joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland as a Chief Specialist in Energy Policy. During their time there, they led a successful diplomatic campaign in the European Union on energy security regulation and secured EU funding for the LNG terminal in Poland.
Since 2012, Maciej has been associated with the World Economic Forum (WEF). Maciej initially served as the Lead Oil & Gas Industry - Energy, Materials, and Infrastructure, where they curated a C-suite community of executives from top oil and gas firms. Maciej focused the WEF Oil & Gas agenda on ESG and carbon emissions management and advised the Oil & Gas Climate Initiative as an Executive Committee member. Currently, they hold the role of Advanced Energy Solutions Industry Manager at WEF, leading a community that aims to accelerate the deployment of advanced energy solutions.

Maciej Kolaczkowski's education history includes a variety of academic achievements and professional certifications. In 2004, they obtained their Master of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Wroclaw. In 2006, they briefly studied Economics at the University of Mannheim. In 2008, they pursued a postgraduate degree in International Economics at the SGH Warsaw School of Economics, completing it in 2010.
In 2013, Maciej attended the University of Geneva, where they engaged in advanced studies in Commodity Trading until 2015. In 2019, they participated in the Leading for Results Executive Programme at the London Business School.
Furthermore, Maciej Kolaczkowski has also obtained additional certifications. In August 2020, they earned a Professional Certificate in Corporate Finance from Columbia Business School. Additionally, in June 2020, they completed a course titled "Rhetoric: The Art of Persuasive Writing and Public Speaking" at Harvard University.
