Hernando Acosta is currently the Work-related Health Intelligence Lead at WorkSafe New Zealand. Prior to this role, Hernando worked as the Principal Advisor (Intelligence) for Communicable Diseases at the Ministry of Health New Zealand and as a Senior Adviser for Surveillance and Spatial Analysis at the New Zealand Ministry for Primary Industries. Acosta holds a PhD in Applied Sciences from Auckland University of Technology, a Master of Science in Environmental and Marine Sciences from The University of Auckland, and specialized in Geographical Information Systems from Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas. Hernando also holds a degree in Biology from Universidad de Los Andes.
