Nikolai Markov has extensive work experience in software development and engineering. Nikolai is currently a Senior Software Development Engineer at Workato since December 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Bookmate from October 2015 to November 2022, starting as a Ruby on Rails backend developer and later becoming the Backend team lead. At Bookmate, they were responsible for developing services for receiving content, such as metadata and media files, utilizing protocols such as ONIX and custom JSON/XML formats. Nikolai also handled financial reporting tasks.

Before joining Bookmate, Nikolai worked at CrowdSystems as a Full-stack Ruby developer from February 2014 to September 2015. Nikolai also had previous experience as a Full-stack Ruby developer at Eventmag.ru from July 2013 to December 2013, and at Undev.ru from October 2012 to June 2013. At Undev.ru, they contributed to projects such as the CCTV system for Kazan Universiade 2013, API development for frontend and desktop applications, notification systems, and authentication systems. Nikolai also worked on frontend development using backbone.

Nikolai Markov attended the Higher School of Economics from 2008 to 2014. The degree and field of study are unspecified.
