Al Motley is currently the Interim CTO at Words Liive. Prior to this, they served as the Chief Technology Officer at Gallaudet University from January 2020 to September 2021. During their time at Gallaudet, they led the CTO Team As A Service and was responsible for the academic continuity during the COVID-19 pandemic.
From November 2019 to August 2021, Al Motley served as the Chief Information Officer at PHILANTHROPI. In this role, they oversaw all aspects of the company's technology and built turnkey solutions that helped employers foster internal charitable giving opportunities.
Prior to their work in the tech industry, Al Motley was a Pahara- Aspen Institute Education Fellow with the Pahara Institute.
Al Motley has a diverse educational background that includes a Board Leadership & Governance Program from the University of Pennsylvania, Penn State University, and a certification from Stanford Social Innovation Review in Design Thinking for the Social Sector. Additionally, Al holds a certification from The Aspen Institute in Aspen Executive Seminar on Leadership, Values and the Good Society, as well as a Certified SCRUM Master - Agile Project Management certification from the Scrum Alliance.
Al Motley reports to Gil Perkins, Founder & President. They are on a team with and Gabriel Benn - Chief Academic Officer.
