My passion in the field of biomedical science is rooted in genetics. I completed a PhD investigating the epigenetics of adrenal cancer and subsequently worked in immunology as a postdoctoral research scientist, analysing clinical trials for a new diagnostic assay.
Imparting knowledge and sharing my love of science steered me into university lecturing, teaching and scientific communications. I gained valuable experience from my years working for the NHS, where I developed resources for healthcare professionals and patients, helping to disseminate advances in genomic medicine. More recently, I worked within the scientific communications department of an in vitro diagnostic company; as a Medical Science Liaison I had responsibility for developing a range of materials focused on haematological malignancies and primary immunodeficiencies.
Ultimately, I love the satisfaction of seeing the final product I have created, whether it be a written manuscript or resources developed from dissecting a detailed paper and transforming it into engaging and easily digestible content. I am now enjoying producing a variety of written materials that comes with working in an innovative healthcare communications agency.
