Amy Fabiano

Associate General Counsel at Worcester Polytechnic Institute

Amy Fabiano serves as the Associate General Counsel in the Office of the General Counsel at WPI. Amy was most recently at the United States Department of Education where she served as a Civil Rights Attorney in the Office for Civil Rights (OCR). While at OCR, she worked extensively in the Title IX area, including investigating complaints, conducting mediations, and negotiating resolution agreements. She also served as an outside resource for schools and colleges on Title IX issues relating to development of policies and grievance procedures.

Before her public service, Amy practiced law at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom – one of the world’s largest law firms -- where she focused on investment products, board governance and regulatory compliance. Amy earned her law degree, magna cum laude, from Boston University School of Law, where she was elected to the Law Review. She earned her M.A. and B.A. in Political Science, summa cum laude, from Boston University where she received several prizes and honors, including membership in the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. Amy was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 2014.

As Associate General Counsel, Amy handles a wide variety of matters including contract drafting and review, policy development and risk management.
