Raj Bhatt, CFA, CFE has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Raj is currently the Co-Founder and President of Woops! Franchise, a position they have held since April 2020. Before this role, they were the Co-Founder and CFO (Strategy and Finance) of Woops! from January 2013 to April 2020.
In addition to their entrepreneurial endeavors, Raj also worked as a Health and Wellness Coach at Live MAST! since May 2018.
Prior to their entrepreneurial ventures, Raj served as the Managing Director of The Abacus Group from June 2011. The Abacus Group is responsible for managing a group of private-held companies in the US and Canada on behalf of a family office.
Before that, Raj worked as a Post-MBA Senior Associate at The Riverside Company from August 2008 to March 2011. Raj focused on private equity control transactions in the lower middle market, with experience in various industries including technology, software, healthcare services, and building products.
Raj's career also includes positions as a Senior Associate at Great Point Partners, an Associate at Shamrock Capital Advisors, and an Analyst at Credit Suisse. Raj began their professional journey as a Summer Analyst at Deloitte Consulting.
Outside of their professional career, Raj served as the President of Gujarati Mandal of Calgary from March 1998 to March 1999.
Raj Bhatt, CFA, CFE has a strong educational background with a focus on finance and business. Raj obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Business and Finance from the University of Calgary in 2001. Raj then pursued an MBA in Finance from Harvard Business School, completing their studies in 2008. In 2006, Raj achieved the prestigious Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter from the CFA Institute, demonstrating their expertise in finance and business. Additionally, they acquired a Certified Franchise Executive (CFE) certification from the International Franchise Association in 2019, specializing in franchising and franchise operations. Before their higher education, Raj attended Rundle College and received their Alberta High School Diploma in 1997.
