Samantha Carruthers has over 10 years of work experience in various roles within the fashion industry. Samantha started their career as a Team Leader at Castle Mania, where they supervised and managed key aspects of the children's play center and café. From there, they founded their own online fashion brand, Swallow & Rose, where they handled the organization, web store management, and designed illustrations for clothing and accessories.
Afterward, Samantha worked at Cruise as a Junior Photographer and Designer, where they processed items for online stores, shot still-life garments and accessories, and collaborated on visual merchandising projects. Samantha then joined Miss A La Mode as the Head of Luxury Goods and Sourcing, where they sourced high-end designer garments and accessories for VIP customers, engaging with department and flagship stores worldwide.
Next, Samantha worked at Aphrodite 1994 as an Online Menswear Editor and Stylist. Their responsibilities included photography, on-set coordination, and recruiting models and locations within budget constraints. Samantha also created seasonal moodboards and essential shot lists.
Following this, Samantha served as the Ecommerce Marketing Coordinator at Michael Stewart Menswear, where they streamlined processes and managed marketing and promotions for both the online and brick-and-mortar store. Their tasks included creating newsletters, social media posts, shooting and styling creative photography, and designing graphic advertisements.
In their most recent role as a Fashion Studio Stylist at Next, Samantha delivered high-quality imagery in line with the brand's creative direction, working on still-life sets and model shoots. Samantha collaborated with various brands, created trend-led styling wardrobes, and ensured adherence to each brand's iconic look.
Currently, Samantha works as an Online Account Manager at Wool Couture Company.
Samantha Carruthers pursued their education at the University of Sunderland from 2009 to 2012, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Fashion Product & Promotion. Prior to attending the university, from 2003 to 2009, Samantha completed their A Levels at Coquet High. During their time at Coquet High, they focused on subjects such as English, Art, and Product Design.
