Ines Melendez is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the energy and geochemistry sectors. Currently serving as Manager of the Carbon Portfolio, Policy, and Markets at Woodside Energy since 2013, Ines has held multiple titles, including Carbon Market Adviser and Commercial Analyst. Ines's expertise includes evaluating international exploration opportunities, particularly in West Africa, through the development of thermally calibrated basin models and geochemical analyses. Ines has participated in initiatives such as Homeward Bound Projects to enhance the influence of women in science and has contributed to Indigenous partnerships focusing on sustainable agricultural practices. With a PhD in Applied Chemistry from Curtin University and a Bachelor's degree in Geochemistry from Universidad Central de Venezuela, Ines has a strong academic foundation and a proven track record in geochemical evaluations and education.
