Louise Emerick has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Louise recently joined Woods Services as a Strategy Development Director in 2022. Prior to this, they were a Graduate Student at the University of Pennsylvania from 2018 to 2022, specializing in the School of Social Policy & Practice. During their time at the university, they also served as an Associate Editor for Almanac.
Before their university years, Louise worked as a Freelance Editor and Copy Editor for their own business from 2017 to 2020. Louise was then employed by America's Test Kitchen for almost a decade, starting as an Associate Editor Promoted to Senior Editor, Books from 2008 to 2013. Later, they became the Senior Editor of Cook's Illustrated magazine from 2013 to 2017.
In 2001, Louise worked at Texas Monthly as a Project Editor in Custom Publishing and was with the company until 2007. Prior to that, they were an Associate Editor at The Pohly Company from 2007 to 2008 and an Account Representative at Springbok Cohn and Wolfe from 2000 to 2001.
Louise Emerick holds a Master of Science (MS) degree in Social Policy from the University of Pennsylvania, which they received in 2022. Prior to that, they completed another Master of Science degree in Nonprofit Leadership from the same institution in 2021. Louise'sundergraduate studies were completed at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 1996 to 2000, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Journalism and Mass Communication with Distinction, along with a minor in Information Systems.
