Scott Shade has held various roles in the field of creative design and education. Scott began their career in 1994 as a Senior Designer at OBATA, where they worked until 1998. Scott then joined Morris Design in 2000, working as a Graphic Designer until 2005. From 2005 to 2006, they served as an Art Director at Promotional Concepts. Scott then joined Woodruff in 2007 as an Associate Creative Director, where they are currently employed. In addition to their professional work, they have also been an Adjunct Instructor at Stephens College from 2008 to 2012 and at the University of Missouri-Columbia from 2014 to 2017.

Scott Shade attended the University of Missouri-Columbia from 1985 to 1989, where they pursued an AB degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, with a focus on English, Journalism, and Graphic Design.
