David De La Cruz MS, EHS has extensive experience in safety and security roles. David began their career as a Detective Sergeant in the East Chicago Police Department, where they achieved a 45% increase in the department's solvability and conviction rate. David then transitioned into the private sector, working as a Director of Security for Rodriguez Security and Investigations, where they negotiated and contracted security for various organizations.
De La Cruz also held roles as a Safety and Security Consultant for both bp and as an independent contractor. In these positions, they provided internal consulting services, ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and DOT standards. David specialized in physical security, intellectual property protection, and emergency management.

David obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice-Law Enforcement Management from Calumet College of St. Joseph in 2004. David then pursued further education and earned a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice-Law Enforcement Administration from the same institution in 2008.
In terms of additional certifications, David completed a Certificate program in Police Staff and Command at Northwestern University in 2003 and 2004. David also obtained the advanced training in The Reid Technique of Interviewing and Interrogation from John E. Reid & Associates, Inc. in June 2002.
Moreover, David holds several certifications related to environmental health and safety. David became an Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager Specialist (EHS) through the National Association of Safety Professionals in April 2017. David also has certifications in Fall Protection Trainer from Capital Safety in September 2013, OSHA 30 in November 2013, OSHA 10 from the National Safety Council in June 2013, and CPR/AED-First Aid-BBP from the Emergency Care & Safety Institute in April 2014.
Furthermore, David has recently expanded their skills in the field of Cyber Security. David is currently pursuing a Certificate in Cyber Security from Ivy Tech Community College, which is expected to be completed in 2023.
