Jeremy Geist has a diverse work experience history. Jeremy worked as a Game Designer at Wizards of the Coast starting in November 2021. Prior to that, they worked at PromoTix from October 2020 to December 2021, where they served as a Web App Designer and a UX Intern. At PromoTix, they updated mobile apps, designed upcoming features, conducted UX evaluations, and created wireframes and technical documentation.
Before that, Jeremy was the Founder and Lead Designer at Phantom Knight Games from April 2015 to December 2021. Jeremy designed, developed, and tested board games, performed various game-related UX tasks, and released their first games in November 2015. Jeremy also worked as a Marketing Associate at ZL Technologies from January 2019 to August 2019, where they oversaw the company blog, ran email outreach programs, and organized software replacements.
Additionally, Jeremy had a contract role as a Game Designer at Wizards of the Coast from January 2019 to May 2019. Jeremy created premade Magic: the Gathering decks and collaborated with other contractors and supervising game designers. Jeremy also worked as a Communications Associate at Nature Nearby from December 2014 to December 2018, where they managed scientific research materials, edited wildlife photos, and handled the YouTube page.
Furthermore, Jeremy was a Grand Finalist in the Great Designer Search 3 competition at Wizards of the Coast from January 2018 to June 2018. Jeremy placed second out of thousands of applicants and created cards that met design standards while pushing boundaries. Jeremy also worked as a Test Proctor at The Princeton Review from September 2014 to October 2016, where they proctored exams and handled testing venue issues.
Jeremy's earlier experiences include being a student at Santa Clara University from September 2010 to June 2014 and an Arts Intern at the City of Menlo Park in July 2012. During their internship, they developed a community assessment tool, designed a grant program, and compiled a database of community theaters.
Jeremy Geist earned a Certificate in UX Design from CareerFoundry in 2021. In the same year, they also obtained a Certificate in Graphic and Interactive Design from Foothill College. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre and Communications at Santa Clara University between 2010 and 2014. Jeremy'sprimary education was completed at Kehillah Jewish High School from 2006 to 2010.
