Karl Morris has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and positions. Starting from 2000, they worked as an Aircraft Technician in the Royal New Zealand Air Force, where they performed maintenance on various aircraft systems. Karl then moved up to Flight Commander Aircraft Trade Training, where they led a team of training staff and trainees. In 2012, Karl became the Aeronautical Software Development Quality Assurance and Risk Manager, managing the development of safe software for RNZAF aircraft. Karl later joined Beca in 2016 as an Associate - Systems Engineering, responsible for establishing high-integrity systems engineering capabilities and developing design control systems. In 2019, they joined Kitty Hawk as a Lead Engineer, System Safety, and then transitioned to Wisk in 2020, where they held managerial positions in safety and reliability engineering.
Karl Morris completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Mathematics and Computer Science at The University of Auckland from 2006 to 2008. In 2012, they attended the Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology and obtained a Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering Management, specializing in Aviation Engineering and Management. Prior to that, they completed their high school education at Dunstan High School from 1993 to 1999. Additionally, in 1998, Karl attended Gymnasium Brunsbuettel for a short period.
