Sebastien Wakim

Co-founder & Board Member at Wisewell

Sebastien Wakim has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Sebastien is currently the Co-founder and CEO of Wisewell, a position they have held since May 2021. Prior to this, Sebastien worked as an Advisor to the Board at Nouvelle Vague Official starting in April 2023.

From 2017 to 2021, Sebastien held various roles at OLX Group, including Regional General Manager for OLX Middle East and Africa, Vice President of Operations and Strategy for AMEA (Asia, Middle East & Africa), and Global Strategy Director.

Before joining OLX Group, Sebastien worked at Uber, where they served as a General Manager for Lebanon, Jordan, Morocco, and Abu Dhabi. At Uber, they played a pivotal role in overseeing the company's operations in those regions.

Sebastien also has experience as a Freelance Consultant in mobile and e-commerce consultancy and as the Director of Operations at Pin-Pay Sal. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Senior Associate at Delta Partners and as a Consultant at Booz & Company.

Sebastien's career started with internships at Airbus as an Assistant Stress Engineer and at the City of Berkeley as an Assistant Traffic Engineer.

Sebastien Wakim's education history includes obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Physics from Lycée Janson-de-Sailly between 1998 and 2000. During this time, they specialized in mathematics and physics in preparation for national competitive entrance exams to leading French engineering "grandes écoles".

From 2000 to 2002, Wakim pursued a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at Ecole spéciale des Travaux publics, du Bâtiment et de l'Industrie.

Continuing their education, from 2002 to 2003, they studied at the University of California, Berkeley, where they obtained a Master of Science degree in Transportation Engineering.

In 2003 and 2004, they attended ISAE-SUPAERO, where they pursued an Advanced Master's degree in Aeronautical Engineering.

Finally, Wakim enrolled at Columbia Business School in 2012 and graduated in 2013 with an MBA degree.
