Kristen Atkins has been the Head of School at Winston Preparatory School in Marin County since July 2019. Prior to that, they were the Director of The Learning Center at The Marin School from July 2017 to July 2019. From August 2016 to July 2017, they were the Director of Teaching and Learning at Colegio Maya Guatemala. And from July 2014 to June 2016, they were the K-12 Mathematics Specialist at American School of Guatemala. Kristen began their career as the Head of School at The New High School Project at Chartwell School from June 2012 to June 2014.

Kristen Atkins has a Masters in Health Education from Southern Connecticut State University and a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology from University of California, Davis.

Kristen Atkins reports to Scott Bezsylko, Executive Director. and Ariela Perlman - Assistant Head of School, Marin County reports to Kristen Atkins. They are on a team with Elizabeth Mendelsohn - COO & Director, Winston Innovation Lab, Beth Sugerman - Head of School, Connecticut, and Sandy Hagerty - Head of School, New York.
