Mark Blanks possesses extensive experience in unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) and aviation management, currently serving as the Chair of the F38 Committee on UAS at ASTM International and Head of Global Flight Operations at Wing. Previous roles include Director of the Mid-Atlantic Aviation Partnership at Virginia Tech, where leadership encompassed the Virginia Tech UAS Test Site, and UAS Program Manager at Kansas State University, credited with the first Section 333 exemption for UAS flight instruction. Blanks has contributed to the growth of UAS operations through various leadership positions, board membership at AUVSI, and foundational roles in educational institutions, demonstrating a commitment to advancing UAS technology and research across multiple organizations. Blanks holds a Master of Science in Aviation Systems from the University of Tennessee Space Institute and a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Maintenance Management from Middle Tennessee State University.
