Shannon Reid has extensive experience in public service and advocacy, currently serving as an elected County Commissioner for Douglas County, Kansas, since January 2021, where responsibilities include convening public meetings and making policy decisions for over 40,000 residents. In addition to this role, Shannon has worked at The Willow Domestic Violence Center since February 2013, focusing on empowering survivors and providing access to legal resources. Previous experience includes serving as the Volunteer Coordinator for the United Way Roger Hill Volunteer Center and roles as an AmeriCorps Member, along with multiple positions related to youth development and community engagement. Educational qualifications include degrees from the University of Kansas and Emporia State University.
