Nuwanthi R. has worked in various roles in the chemical industry since 2015. Nuwanthi started as a Chemist at HAYCARB PLC in 2015, where they performed routine laboratory testing, conducted R&D studies, and prepared lab reports for wastewater samples. From 2017 to 2022, Nuwanthi worked as a Graduate Research Assistant and a Graduate Teaching and Learning Assistant at the University of Rhode Island. In their roles, they developed novel low temperature electrolytes for lithium ion batteries, performed ex-situ analysis of surface films, and taught and graded General Chemistry labs. Currently, Nuwanthi is a Battery Scientist at Wildcat Discovery Technologies, where they execute external customer research projects focused on novel electrolyte formulations and contributes to internal research process development.
Nuwanthi R. earned their Bachelor of Science - BSc (Special) in Chemistry from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. Nuwanthi is currently pursuing their Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Lithium-ion batteries from the University of Rhode Island College of Arts and Sciences, which they are expected to complete in 2022.
