Janire Castellano is an experienced professional in animal welfare and affective neuroscience, currently serving as Outreach Manager and Scientific Events & Outreach Coordinator at Wild Animal Initiative since September 2022. Castellano has been an Associate Researcher at Newcastle University since September 2018, focusing on primate welfare and is also a PhD student specializing in the multidisciplinary assessment of cumulative experiences in laboratory rhesus macaques. Castellano holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Affective Neuroscience and Animal Welfare from Newcastle University and has completed a Master of Research in Animal Behaviour. Previous experience includes a Research Master's degree and an internship in microbiology at Osakidetza.
