Scott Macdonald has extensive experience in engineering, specializing in robotic welding and additive manufacturing. Since January 2013, Scott has been with Whittaker Group Ltd as a Robotic Welding Engineer and Additive Manufacturing Engineer, leading research in wire and arc additive manufacturing and programming robots for component overlaying. Prior roles include CNC and Offshore Machinist, where Scott managed Mazak and FANUC machines and utilized CAM software such as Edgecam and Mastercam. Before that, Scott worked as a CNC Programmer and Machinist at Dril-Quip, focusing on FANUC systems and horizontal milling machines, and held positions as a Design Engineer and Toolmaker at Interplex Industries, Inc. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Engineering from The Open University and an HNC in Engineering Systems from Dundee and Angus College.
