Aaron Newman has over 25 years of work experience in the fields of data engineering, systems engineering, and intelligence analysis. Aaron began their career in 1991 as a Research Assistant at MIT Lincoln Laboratory. In 1993, they joined Adroit Systems, Inc., where they held various positions over the next 10 years. In 2003, they joined SRA International, Inc. as the Director of Defense and Space Intelligence Programs. Over the next 9 years, they held various positions including Technical Director, Civil Sector and Senior Principal. In 2012, they joined Volant Associates as a Senior Principal Systems Engineer, and in 2013, they joined Global Consulting Services, Inc. as Director and Senior Systems Engineer. In 2018, they joined Whiteboard Federal Technologies as Principal Data Scientist and Program Manager. In this role, they provide data engineering services to a team of data scientists supporting the counterterrorism mission. Aaron has also previously served as a Product Delivery Owner responsible for vision and oversight of a Big Data portfolio on a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) program supporting a national intelligence customer, and as a subcontract program manager with oversight of 18 personnel, generating over $7 million in annual revenue.
Aaron Newman has an extensive educational background. Aaron obtained a BS/MS in Aeronautics and Astronautics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) between 1988 and 1993. Aaron then attended George Mason University (GMU) between 1995 and 1996, where they received a Graduate Certificate in C3I Systems Engineering. Aaron returned to GMU between 1996 and 2010 and earned an Engineer Degree in Information Technology. Aaron also attended Stuyvesant High School between 1984 and 1988. Aaron Newman is currently enrolled in a Master of Applied Data Science program at the University of Michigan, which they will complete in 2024. Additionally, they have obtained numerous certifications, including a Neo4j Certified Professional, an Applied Data Science with Python Specialization, a General Radiotelephone Operator License, a Certified Information Privacy Professional / Government, an Amateur Radio License, General Class, a Project Management Professional, an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, an AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate, a Certified Information Privacy Professional / United States, a Certified SAFe® 5 Agile Product Manager, and a Python 3 Programming Specialization.
