Jonathan Hawkins has a long history of work experience in the gaming industry. Jonathan began their career in 2003 as a Junior Designer at Santa Monica Studio, where they worked their way up to Lead Level Designer. In 2011, they founded GameDevDrinkUp, an international monthly mixer for the game development community, and was the lead organizer for several cities. In 2014, they founded White Elk LLC, where they served as Founder and President. Jonathan was also responsible for the company's Upload VR Mobile VR Game of the Year, Daydream District Game of the Year, and Unity Awards nomination for Best VR Game. In 2017, they became President of the Game Developers Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization that focuses on fostering the growth of game developers through local volunteer communities, educational outreach programs, grants and scholarships.
Jonathan Hawkins attended the University of Southern California from 1999 to 2003, where they obtained a degree in Computer Science with a focus on Computer Science.
