Keith Hicks has extensive experience in program management and executive leadership roles. Keith currently serves as the VP of Programs at WHEDco, a position they have held since August 2022. Prior to this, Keith was the Director of Middle School Programs - SONYC at the New York City Department of Youth and Community Development from July 2015 to August 2022. Keith also worked as a consultant from November 2014 to July 2015.
Keith's earlier roles include serving as the Executive Director at YMCA of Greater New York - Greenpoint Branch from January 2011 to October 2014, where they were responsible for the day-to-day operations of the branch and provided leadership to a team of professionals and support staff. Keith also served as the Interim Executive Director at YMCA of Greater New York/Greenpoint from July 2010 to January 2011 and as the Associate Executive Director at YMCA of Greater New York / North Brooklyn from December 2007 to June 2010.
Keith's career began in 2001 as the Beacon Center Director at YMCA of Greater New York, where they supervised the operation of a community center and managed a significant budget. Prior to that, they served as the Program Director at The HOPE Program from June 1998 to July 2001.
Keith Hicks graduated from John Jay College (CUNY) in 1991 with a Bachelor's degree in Sociology, focusing on Deviant Behavior and Social Control. Keith later pursued a Master's degree in Urban Studies/Public Policy at Queens College from 2000 to 2002.
